CCBME Internship Program

The Medical Device Electronics course started all the way from the basics of analog electronics putting a lot of emphasis on the power electronics all the way to the complex electronics for biomedical signal acquisition. The theory sessions were followed by practical work on circuit designing and testing.

The Embedded Systems course involved a detailed study of Atmel AVR Microcontroller architecture followed by in-depth coverage of the programming of the embedded systems specially for medical device applications.

The course on MATLAB based Biomedical Signal Processing included the basics of digital signal processing, digital filtering, time domain, frequency domain and wavelet based signal processing, followed by MATLAB based programming for implementing the signal processing algorithms.

During the final project period, Kabid had successfully designed and prototyped 3 medical devices – a QRS detector cum Electrocardiograph (ECG), Photoplethysmograph (PPG) and a Phonocardiograph (PCG) with very high quality signals.
